Day of Mourning 2022

We are going to have a hybrid version of our Day of Mourning ceremony this year. City Hall is still not available to host an event the scale of our traditional Day of Mourning ceremony. As such, we are again working with Cable 14 to produce a broadcast which will be shown several times on April 28th and during the week after.

On April 28th, the Day of Mourning, the broadcast will be shown at 11 a.m., 5 p.m., and 8 p.m.. You can watch the broadcast on your television, if you have cable, on channel 14. If you do not have cable, you can watch the broadcast live at these times at THIS LINK.

At 5:00 p.m. we invite locals who wish to come out to the monument outside of City Hall to do so. While we will not be having a full ceremony, there will be some greetings, comments, and then an invitation to have locals place their wreaths at the monument.

As has been the tradition of the past few years, members of our Health & Safety and Wellness Workgroup will be on hand to distribute individual roses and pins to anyone who wishes to recognize the memory of a fallen comrade.

NOTE: While we cannot require people to wear masks to this outside portion, we would ask that your members please consider doing so as we do not know if we will be sharing the space with comrades who are at a higher risk.
