Interested in activism and social justice? Returning to school in September 2010? Work at the Labour Council this summer!

The Hamilton and District Labour Council is offering 1 job at 30 hours per week for 11 weeks to an eligible student. The starting date and work hours are negotiable but some evening work might be required.

The successful applicant would be involved in a broad range of projects and activities - from filing, to research, and organizing events.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • have been enrolled in full-time secondary or post-secondary education during the previous academic year;
  • will be returning full-time to secondary or post-secondary studies in September 2010;
  • must be a Canadian citizen, permanent citizen or refugee;
  • must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years (inclusive);
  • possess skills in desktop publishing, word processing and data processing;
  • familiarity with the labour movement will be helpful.

Applicants will be assessed initially using a blind selection process.
