Hamilton and District Labour Council

May 15, 2009

On May 13, 2009, Hamilton City Council passed a resolution, moved by Councillor Sam Merulla, supporting significant changes to the current EI system, including reducing the numbers of hours to qualify to 360. The full text is available below. This resolution was promoted by the Hamilton and District Labour Council. Labour Council trusts that our local Members of Parliament from all parties will join with us and their municipal colleagues in pressing the federal government to reform EI in a way that makes the system fairer and responds to the economic hardship of cities like Hamilton and Burlington.
